Benefits of Online Doctor Visits

Benefits of Online Doctor Visits

Thanks to recent developments in telemedicine, you no longer have to physically visit a clinic to get vascular care. A virtual doctor visit allows you to get the relief you need from the comfort of your home. It improves the efficiency of care delivery, reduces expenses of healthcare, and can also help to prevent unnecessary crowding in healthcare facilities. Our virtual doctor visits give us the opportunity to provide valuable care to you, regardless of your location or state of health.

Telemedicine is meant to supplement the normal care regimen. That means you will still visit one of our clinics for your treatment procedure if your PAD is severe. You can continue with your treatment journey through telemedicine, and will not likely need to visit the clinic again unless serious complications develop. After your treatment procedure, you have the opportunity to attend your follow-up or pain management visits from home. Telemdicine is a simple and accessible way to get diagnosed and treated for PAD.

Discuss Your PAD Issues with a Vascular Specialist

During your telemedicine visit, you can discuss your PAD issues comfortably without any embarrassment. Consulting with a vascular expert online for PAD is a great option, especially if you live in a remote location without easy access to a healthcare facility. PAD symptoms can become very painful; a virtual doctor visit is a good option to quickly get lasting relief.

Telemedicine can significantly improve healthcare in regards to the current situation with COVID-19. By conducting your vascular consultation from home, you are saving yourself from potential risk of exposure, as well as our doctors and staff.

Online Doctor Visits for PAD

We truly are committed to providing an effective solution for anyone struggling with the symptoms of PAD. PAD occurs when there is a blockage in leg arteries due to plaque or fatty deposits. Your muscles won’t be able to get their due supply of blood, oxygen and nutrients because of the blockage and you will experience pain in the legs while climbing stairs, exercising, running or walking. The pain will usually subside when you rest, but in advanced cases of PAD, you may also experience pain even at rest. Tissue death may occur in advanced cases due to complete blockage and no supply of blood.

Non-Surgical PAD Treatment

At USA Vascular Centers, we provide non-surgical treatment for PAD with the help of a non-invasive procedure, known as balloon stent angioplasty. One of our interventional radiologists will examine the blockage in your leg through medical imaging technology. Then, they will place a stent or a wire mesh at the site of blockage with the help of a balloon catheter. This reaches the site of the blockage through a small incision in your groin. The stent will serve as a scaffold and ensure smooth blood flow through the blockage. It will be stay in the artery permanently to ensure unhindered blood supply after the procedure. You will not need general anesthesia for this outpatient procedure. The affected area will be numbed beforehand so you don’t feel any pain.

This outpatient procedure can take about 1-2 hours, and you will be able to go home within 24 hours of receiving treatment. The non-surgical PAD procedure has a fast recovery time and you should be able to continue normal activities within a week post procedure.
